Now all new teacher in Assam will be appointed in govt. and private schools after pass Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam. All candidates have to take TET exam before joining of teacher. Only pass candidates in TET exam would be eligible for teacher in govt. and private school.

This is compulsory for private school also. If any private school appoint any teacher without TET pass then school’s affiliations from any board will be canceled. The old teachers of Govt. and private school do not need to pass TET exam for continue their job. They will be considered as TET pass candidate if they change their school.

On-line applications are invited from the candidates having permanent residence in the state of Assam who intend to appear in Paper I( Lower Primary) and Paper II ( Upper Primary) of TET.

The districts have been grouped into several zones and a candidate has to select his preferred Zone while applying for the TET. After qualifying in TET, he or she will get preference for engagement as a teacher in his preferred Zone in accordance with the Government Notification No
PMA.277/2019/7-A dated 22/08/2019. This will be applicable for both regular and contractual posts.

Zone No. 2 Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Udalguri
Zone No. 3 Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Darrang, Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai
Zone No. 4 Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivsagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Charaideo
Zone No. 5 Sonitpur, Biswanath, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur
Zone No. 6 Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, West Karbi Anglong
Zone No. 7 Cachar, Hailakandi, Karimganj

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in TET are as follows:
A.Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
B.Candidate must have minimum academic and professional qualification as follows:

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)

a)Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.

b)A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.

Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)

a)Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF TET, 2019, ASSAM:
The Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Lower Primary level (classes I to V)

(i)Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(ii)Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo,Manipuri, Garo, Nepali, Karbi, Hmar(compulsory-any one) : 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(iii)Language II – English(compulsory): 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(iv)Mathematics :30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(v)Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs- 30 Marks

Paper II –Mathematics & Science or Social Science (Studies) (for class VI to VIII):

(i)Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(ii)Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo,Manipuri, Garo, Nepali, Karbi, Hmar(compulsory-any one):30 MCQs -30 Marks
(iii)Language II –English (compulsory): 30 MCQs- 30 Marks
(iv)(a) For Mathematics and Science teacher :
Mathematics and Science Or: 60 MCQs- 60 Marks
(iv)(b) For Social Studies teacher : Social Studies Or: 60 MCQs -60 Marks
(iv)(c) For any other teacher – either iv (a) Or iv (b)

Duration of examination: 2 1/2 hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes’ time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.

Minimum Marks for qualifying in TET: A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST(Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %.

Time schedule for TET- 2019, Assam:
1.Opening for receipt of On-Line Application: 02/09/2019
2.Last date of receipt of On-Line Application: 17/09/2019
3.Issue of E- Admit card: 30/09/2019
4.Date of Examination: 10/11/2019

Steps of submission of on-line Application Form and examination fee are:
a)Log-in through the web site https://ssa.assam.gov.in or https://sebaonline.org
b)Download Instruction Manual.
c)Read carefully the Instruction Manual on how to submit the online application form.
d)Submit Online Application and upload Passport size Photo and Signature of recommended size (as mentioned in Instruction Manual).
e)The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/credit card/ debit card etc. he/she can
take print out of the Online Application form.

Following modifications have been made as on 18.9.2019:
1.The period of submission of on-line application of TET, Assam 2019 (Lower Primary and Upper Primary) only for the Physically Challenged candidates has been extended and such online applications will be received from 19″ September, 2019 to 27″ September, 2019. Physically Challenged candidates who had applied earlier may also edit their Application Form with the help of their Application Number and Password within the above mentioned period.

2.For preliminary scrutiny before issue of Admit card for the Candidates who had submitted on- line application as * pursuing professional course (B.Ed/D.EI.Ed) will have to mandatorily upload the following details from 19° September, 2019 to 27″ September, 2019. They have to upload/update their Application Form with the help of their Application Number and Pass word within the above mentioned period.
a.Date of Admission in professional course ( B.Ed/D.El.Ed)
b.Name of Institutien where pursuing the professional course ( B.Ed’D.EI.Ed)
c.Mode of professional course( B.Ed/D.EI.Ed) : Regular or ODL
d.Image of self attested Admission receipt with seal of the Institution where pursuing the professional course(B.Ed/D.El.Ed)
3.Date of examination of Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET), Assam 2019 (Lower Primary and Upper Primary) has been rescheduled on 10″ November, 2019.
