Application in prescribed proforma are invited from the Indian citizen who are permanent resident of Assam for admission session 2021-2022 in the First Year of the Six Semesters (3 years) Diploma Course in Handloom & Textile Technology at Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Jawahar Nagar, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 under Ministry of Textiles Govt. of India, against the quota of Assam.
The candidate should have —
(a)Candidate should have passed 10th standard or equivalent examination with English as a subject of study.
(b)The age limit for general candidate should be between 15 and 23 years and for SC/ST candidates, it should be between 15 and 25 years as on 16th August, 2021.
(c)The reservation of seats for SC/ST/MOBC candidate is to be followed as per existing Govt. policy.
(d)20% of the total seats allocated to a State are reserved for candidates belong to Weavers’ Community (Profession). Shortfall will be met out from the candidates other than Weavers’ Community (Profession).
(e)5% of total seats allocated to State are reserved for candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
(f)The panel of the selected candidates is required to be prepared on merit basis.
Application forms along with information regarding detailed conditions of Admission may be obtained from the office of the Director, Handloom and Textiles, Assam, Ambari, Guwahati-1 or from the office of the Asstt. Director/ Superintendent, Handioom and Textile, of the respective District and Sub- Division. The application form will also be available in the Directorate website: dht.assam.gov.in
Duly filled up application in prescribed proforma along with supporting certificate/ documents should reach in the Director, Handloom and Textiles, Assam, Ambari, Guwahati-781001 on or before 16/08/2021.
No application will be received after the last date.
