This recruitment fills 72 vacancies of Field Assistant (Statistics)/Enumerator under the Integrated Sample Survey (ISS), a centrally sponsored scheme run by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam (Chenikuthi, Guwahati-03).

Pay
Pay Band-2 of ₹14,000 – ₹70,000, plus Grade Pay of ₹5,600, plus other allowances as admissible from time to time.
Age: Not less than 21 years and not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2026.
Eligibility
Educational qualification: a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any subject, having studied at least one paper of Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology at the graduate level; or a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard.
Languages: knowledge of English and a local language — candidates must have studied both English and one of Assamese, Bengali or Bodo as subjects during HSLC.
Computer knowledge: candidates must be comfortable keying data through a handheld device, and must qualify and upload a Computer Course Certificate of at least 6 months’ duration from a Government-recognised institute.
Certificates and conditions
Caste certificate: for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC reservation, issued by the competent authority under Government of Assam, clearly stating the candidate’s caste, the Act/order under which it is recognised, and the candidate’s village/town of ordinary residence.
PwBD category: requires a Benchmark Disability of 40% or more with certificate from the competent authority. Selected PwBD candidates undergo a medical examination by a Board before appointment is confirmed.
Ex-servicemen: must upload the Ex-Servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office of Assam, and the Discharge Book, while applying.
A valid Employment Exchange registration certificate in the State of Assam is required.
Candidates already in regular government service must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority as and when asked.
A declaration on “Small Family Norms” in Form-A must be submitted as and when asked.
Candidates seeking consideration under the Assam Public Services (Preferential Appointment) Rules, 1999 must indicate their choice in the application portal.
