MBBS/BDS courses Admission Notice 2019
This is for general information for all eligible candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (U.G.)- 2019 (NEET-UG 2019) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into MBBS/BDS courses in the Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam for the session 2019 under 85% State quota seats, that the first (1st) counseling for selection of eligible candidates for admission into 1st year MBBS/BDS courses will be held from
28th June to 5th July’2019 from 10 AM onwards at Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 as per schedule mentioned below. The eligible candidates are to appear before the Selection Board for their selection for provisional admission, subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria as per the MBBS/BDS Admission Rules,2017 and its subsequent Amendments.
The eligible candidates must bring duly filled up Application Form of Schedule-I of Admission Rule (in original) along with all relevant annexure certificates attached with Application Form, Admit Card, Score Card and OMR sheet of NEET (UG)-2019, Marks sheets of 10+2 (Sc.) examination, Admit Card of HSLC or equivalent examination, Pass Certificate of HSLC or equivalent, Pass certificate of HSSLC or equivalent, PRC, Caste & other reserved category certificates, and other relevant documents in original for verification during counseling process. A set of photo copies of all the said documents duly signed by the candidate himseIf/herself are to be submitted along with the Application Form at the time of counseling. Application Form with all Annexures shall be available in our official website www.dme.assam.gov.in. Incomplete application Forms shall be summarily rejected. Candidates are requested to follow the instructions laid down in the MBBS/BDS Admission Rules 2017 and its subsequent Amendments as well as the instructions in the body of the Annexed Certificates with Application Form before filling up of the Application Form. All eligible candidates must appear personally for counseling on the scheduled dates and time.
As per MBBS/BDS admission rule, 2017 and its subsequent Amendments, the Rank holders (1st & 2nd only) of HSSLC (Sc.)-2019 under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Guwahati, who have qualified NEET (UG), 2019 are directly entitled to get admission in to MBBS/BDS course through counseling process irrespective of their merit position in NEET (UG)-2019, provided they have qualified in the NEET(UG), 2019.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
For OBC/MOBC/MORAN/MOTAK/TGL-Ex-TGL Category candidates:
(i) They must submit the original Non-creamy Layer OBC/MOBC certificate issued by the D.C. of the concerned district.
(ii) The annexure-Ill of the Application Form (Schedule I) to be submitted by OBC/ MOBC/ Moran/ Mottak/ TGL, Ex-TGL must clearly show that the candidate belongs to Non-creamy Layer. In case of any matter of controversy, the decision of the Selection Board shall be final and binding.
The schedule for counseling is detailed below:
Date of Counseling: 28th June, 2019.
(A) Person with disability (Dibyang) (PwD) quota:
All candidates who have applied under this category as per Rule and who have qualified NEET (UG),2019.
Date of Counseling: 29th June, 2019.
(B) Position Holders in HSSLC (Science) Examination, 2019 from AHSEC, Assam (1st & 2nd) provided they have qualified in the NEET-UG-2019 for admission into MBBS/ BDS course. (C) Rank from 1 to 150 of Assam State of merit list of NEET (UG)-2019.
Date of Counseling: 30th June, 2019.
(D) Rank from 151 to 300 of Assam State of merit list of NEET (UG)- 2019.
Date of Counseling: 1st July, 2019.
(E) Rank from 301 to 452 of Assam State of merit list of NEET (UG)- 2019. After filling-up of all unreserved/General Merit seats, the remaining candidates belonging to SC, ST(P), ST(H) and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer) reserved categories upto the rank 452 will be accommodated in their respective categories in order of merit. However, the candidates belonging to Moran, Motak and TGL/Ex. TGL Category shall have to appear on the specific date as mentioned in the Notice.
After this the remaining, vacant seats in SC, ST(P), ST(H) and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer) shall be filled-up from the candidates of respective category as listed bellow:

(F) Following Candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC (Non Creamy layer only) category. Rank from 453 to 1422 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)-2019.
Date of Counseling: 3rd July, 2019.
(G) Following candidates belonging to ST(P) category Rank from 453 to 2939 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)-2019.
(H) Following candidates belonging to ST(H) category Rank from 453 to 5237 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)-2019.
Date of Counseling: 4th July, 2019.
(I) Following candidates belonging to SCHEDULE CASTE category:
Rank from 453 to 1547 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)-2019.
(J) FREEDOM FIGHTERS QUOTA:
Rank from 453 to 1161 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG) – 2019 and any candidate who appeared in the previous dates of counseling claiming this quota.
(K) CHAR AREA QUOTA:
Rank from 453 to 600 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)- 2019 and any candidate who appeared in the previous dates of counseling claiming this quota.
(L) MARTYRS QUOTA:
All candidates of Martyrs quota who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET (UG)- 2019.
(M) EXTREMIST VIOLENCE QUOTA:
All candidates of Ext. Violence quota who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET (UG)-2019.
(N) MORAN COMMUNITY (Non Creamy layer of OBC/MOBC only):
All candidates of Moran Community quota who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET (UG) 2019.
(O)MOTAK COMMUNITY (Non Creamy layer of OBC/MOBC only):
All candidates of Motak Community quota who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET (UG) 2019.
Date of Counseling: 5th July, 2019.
(P) EX-SERVICEMEN & SERVING DEFENCE PERSONNEL QUOTA:
All candidates of EX;SERVICEMEN & SERVING DEFENCE PERSONNEL QUOTA who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET(UG)-2019.
(Q) TGL/Ex-TGL CATEGORY (Non Creamy layer of OBC/MOBC only):
Rank from 453 to 6086 of Assam State merit list of NEET (UG)- 2019 and any candidate who appeared in the previous dates of counseling claiming this quota.
(R) SPORTS QUOTA:
All candidates of Sports quota who have obtained qualifying Marks in NEET (UG)-2019.
(S) ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS) QUOTA:
A separate category of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) has been newly introduced. These EWS category seats are purely meant for General Category candidates and candidates must not be from OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P) and ST(H) categories. All concerned are requested to go through the Govt. of Assam, Personnel Department’s Office Memorandum No.ABP.07/2019/4, Dated: 10.04.2019 which has been uploaded in the website www.dme.assam.gov.in.
Candidates claiming for EWS quota seats are directed to bring the Annexure-XI completely filled up and duly signed by concerned Circle Officer at the time of counseling. Candidates upto the rank of 1000 of Assam State Merit List of NEET (UG)-2019 are directed to attend the counseling on 5th July, 2019 at 10.00 AM. If the total EWS seats are not filled up within the rank of 1000, the remaining vacant seats will be filled up in subsequent counseling process.
